Vanity of vanities, all things are vanity. What profit has man from all the labour Which he toils at under the sun? One generation passes and another comes, but the world forever stays. The sun rises and the sun goes down; then it presses on to the place where it rises. Blowing now towards the south, then toward the north, then towards the west, then towards the east, the wind turns again and again, resuming its sound. All rivers go to the sea, yet never does the sea become full. To the place where they go, the rivers keep going. Energy flows from the hot to the cold, keeps on flowing ceaselessly. Two beauties, the beauty of spirit which mirrors the indescribable truth, the beauty that lasts forever, the beauty that never rot, rust, die, but perpetuate to eternity. The beauty of man, the beauty of the flesh that turns to dust and the beauty that dispears like a shadow. Tilahun Gessese, your beauty both the shadow and true beauty are engraved in the mind of every Ethiopian. Tilahun, was your name meant to be a shadow for your fellow Ethiopian men and women? Tilahun, you have been more than a shadow, you have been a shield and an armour to your beloved Ethiopia. Tilahun, you have touched your fellow, your tears are a reflection of your unfathomable justness, unconditional love and selflessness. Tilahun, if we your audiences have ears to hear your marvelous messages we ought to hear it now. If we have eyes to see your tears now, we ought to see your tears now and plant a seed of peace and love in our heart. Gezaee Hailemichael. |
