onion ferenji foreign policy

Postby ጉድእኮነው » Tue Oct 18, 2005 1:12 pm

why do the above ferenji countries act the way they do despite their widely expressed view of supporting democratic movements all over the world, a policy "adopted" after 9/11 and even after condoleezza rice said in cairo few months ago that usa has changed its policy of giving priority to "stability" at the expense of "democracy" "in all (she said "i repeat all") countries" ?

well the truth is all those expressed views of ferenji politicians can not be trusted.
ferenji policy like an onion. it has many layers.
the top of that layer is securing ferenji supremacist agendas. the second layer is national interest of the ferenji nations. the third layer is like spreading democracy and freedom in the world.and there are fourth and fifth etc layers just like an onion.
so when they say they support democracy in the world they are not telling you the whole truth. what they do not tell you is that for them to support democracy which is a policy of 3rd priority or layer that support SHOULD NOT BE IN CONFLICT WITH THE GOALS OF THE 1st and 2nd layers. it appears in ethiopia's case supporting democracy would be in conflict with the first layer goal of advancing ferenji supremacist agendas and the second layer goal of individual ferenji countries' national interests.

so those ethiopians who say usa and uk support meles because of his support for their anti-terrorism campaign LIE and worse THEY MISLEAD YOU !
a government led by cud would not be less cooperative in the fight against terrorism than meles.

we should be very very concerned by this stand of the ferenjis, they must have sinister agendas for supporting meles despite all the negative records of meles.
neighbouring countries like egypt, sudan, even djibouti could be also exerting pressure on those ferenji nations to keep on supporting meles no matter what his crimes. they might be telling them that a cud lead government would be a nationalist one and would destabilize the region, etc.

Call for a stay-at-home strike

By Kinfu, Ethiopian Media Forum
October 18, 2005
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tuesday, 18 October 2005 (EMF) - The release of the EU report on election observation in Ethiopia has been delayed because heated debate is undertaking among the EU member states over the massive election fraud by the EPRDF and a possible way out, source revealed EMF.

The European Commission has fully accepted a report submitted by the EU Election Commission Observer Mission (EU-EOM) but no consensus has yet been reached on the action to apply the resolution proposed by EU parliament.

"Having endorsed the report of Anna Gomez, the EU is currently discussing the possible recommendations to be applied on Ethiopia." says Dr. Negede Gobeze in an interview with Ethiopian current affairs discussion forum, "But our action in the comming ten days matters a lot."

Confidential source disclosed EMF that a heated debate is underway among EU member states on the situation in Ethiopia. Some say, the vote of the Ethiopian people must be respected and consequently propose for a possible re-election; others insist Meles to stay in power until the next election.

EU member states who endorse the disputed election result of may 2005 seemed to have been convinced by Meles’ propaganda campaign. The EPRDF camp is intensifying its propaganda threats to the diplomatic missions saying “the failure to accept the statuesque would destabilize the country”. It also tries to deceive the world saying, “The people but the Diaspora have accepted” the controversial election result.

“The EU decision will certainly affect the collapse or the raise of democratic processes in Ethiopia.” Says Dr. Negede Gobeze, “Our activities in the coming ten days are vital for positive response from the EU. We have to intensify a coordinated struggle both in and outside the country."

Dr. Negede urges all opposition forces and civic associations to join together for a unified action to show the world that the result of the May election is not accepted by the Ethiopian people.

He recommends for a general stay-at-home strike to be called in Ethiopia. “The failure to intensify our peaceful struggle in the coming few days would put our struggle in jeopardy.” Dr. Negede said. “Our action would have a great consequence on the position to be taken by the EU Commission.”

It is to be recalled that the European Parliament has called on the Commission to pursue to step up the European Union’s humanitarian policy with regard to Ethiopia and to adjust its non-humanitarian aid in accordance with progress in the democratic process. It has warned Meles of possible aid cuts. The EC is contributing about $500m annual aid to Ethiopia.

Certainly the conflict has its own local roots - and perhaps solutions. But the US, experts say, could strong-arm Ethiopia into making key concessions - except that it counts on Ethiopia for help in the war on terror and therefore doesn't want to antagonize it.

"Ethiopia is a major player in terms of American counter-terror strategy," says Richard Cornwell at the Institute for Security Studies in Pretoria, South Africa. Therefore, he says, the US is reluctant to push Ethiopia too hard.

Ethiopia's value to the US stems in part from the region's geography. The nation shares a long stretch of border with Somalia, a lawless country where Al Qaeda and other Islamic militant groups have been known to operate. In fact, according to the International Crisis Group, Ethiopian security forces operate in Somalia, including in the major city of Mogadishu. US officials have warned in recent months that if Al Qaeda operatives ever leave Iraq, they may head for Somalia.

Eritrea, meanwhile, is a notoriously closed and controlled society. It's a country with 4.5 million people and located on the Red Sea. Western journalists are rarely allowed in. And it's hard to judge what the latest moves mean.

In general, observers say, there's growing distrust of the outside world among Eritrea's small ruling cadre. That's partly because the world community - including the US - hasn't pushed Ethiopia to acknowledge the UN-backed court's 2002 ruling, say experts.

Indeed, another reason for US and western reluctance to arm-twist Ethiopia is apparent concern that Ethiopia's ruling party isn't strong enough to withstand the storm of domestic criticism that would ensue if it gave up Badme and other disputed areas. There's worry the already fragile country could well fall apart.

Eritrea's new banning of UN helicopter flights over the border zone may simply be an effort to get more attention from the international community - in hopes of building diplomatic pressure on Ethiopia. But there are other possible motivations.

There's a major fuel shortage in Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, Mr. Cornwell points out. This may point to how bad the economy has gotten - and that President Isaias Afwerki is stoking tensions with Ethiopia to prevent internal economic dissent from building. Or the military could be stockpiling fuel for a major offensive against Ethiopia.

UN officials say they haven't seen any major military changes on the ground, although the new helicopter restrictions prevent the monitoring of roughly 55 percent of the border region.
