In 2010, the fastest growing African economies are projected to be Republic of Congo (12.2%), Angola (9.3%), and Ethiopia (7%).
In 2011, the fastest growing African economies are projected to be Ghana (22.5%), Liberia (9.2%), and Botswana (8.5%). Angola (8.4%) follows closely behind Botswana in 2011.
In 2012, there are several double-digit growth projections – Botswana (13.8%), Liberia (12.8%), Mauritania (13.1%), Niger (12.9%).

Inflation in Ethiopia Rises to 36.3% in February- Tue Mar 13, 2012 1:42am EDT
The international Monetary Fund had predicted on 31 May 2011 that inflation might undermine economic growth in Ethiopia. IMF had said that the economy would fall from 7.5 percent this year to 6 percent in the 2011/2012 fiscal year and that the country's monetary policy was pushing up inflation which, combined with restrictions on bank lending, would in turn bring about a slower economic growth.
