Federal Police were attacked, roads closed in Gojjam

The people of Gojjam have started to take retaliatory measures on the notorious Federal Police. Sources in Debre Markos told Ethiopian Review that a hand grenade was thrown at federal police troops a few days ago at Gullet Kidane Mehret market. The main target of the attack was a Federal Police officer who was responsible for a number of atrocities in the region. He was killed instantly. Five of his troops were wounded but escaped the attack.
People have also started blocking major roads with large rocks and trees. Last week a military convoy was attacked at Metekel, according to eyewitnesses.
