ይሄንን የጻፉት ሰዎች ዛሬ የት ናቸው ? አሰቃቂ ወንጀል እንደገና ሲደገም ምን ይላሉ ?

Quote:
EDF: Ke Meles Behuala Wede Adi Quala!

ETHIOPIAN COMMENTATOR Editorial

Ethiopians should not blame Isayas Afeworki. He is just implementing his Master's will; Mussolini's Will! That he is committed to the Will of his Master, he has told us for almost half of a century! And quiet frankly, we have been clear of his mission and commitment to live by the gospel of Europe's worst.

What we Ethiopians have not been so clear about (not all of us at least) is the intent of the disciple of the disciple of Europe's Monster, the Meles-Sibhat clique. Admittedly, not all Ethiopians were fooled by the evil intention of Isayas's proteges in the heart of our country. But for many of us, the joke is on us; we have been done in BIG time! Let us face it folks; we have been had!

Never could we have imagined that the TPLF could be infected with the most virulent scourge of Europe's worst plague. Or is it that we did not want to believe it? Or is it that we have been naive? And worst, could it be that we have fell victim to the scourge of ethnic rivalries and lost sense of our duty to our people and country? Or have we fallen victim to multiples of causes?

But what does it matternow; the harm has been done! Our emotions have cost us dearly! Meles and company has done an excellent job in burying us in our own emotions. And as we drowned in an induced state of hysteria, the creeping scissors has done its rite! How terrible to come to understand that all the sacrifices of the Ethiopian people, and more so of the people of Tigray was, although we were told it was for the sake of democracy in Ethiopia, it was really a sacrifice for the sake of the disciples of Mussolini! All those Tegadelti, 50 to 70 thousand strong, dead for the hidden agenda of Shaebia!

Indeed the Meles-Sibhat clique is a master of deception. Not only did the clique deceive those of us amateur in political intrigues but more importantly, for too long, almost a quarter of a century to be exact, the cliques true mission even evaded the keen sense of the Guardian-12! The latter only became aware of the true intention of the enemy within during the May-June, 2000 offensive against Shaebia.

Better late than never goes the good old wisdom. We have finally seen the light; we have finally come to a consensus. And this congruency crosses every border, be it political, ethnic or religious boundaries. There exist today a unanimous meeting of minds among Ethiopians! For the first time in a quarter of a century, Ethiopians have come to understand that our premier mortal enemy lies not across the Mereb but in the Palace of our nations capital! All of us and without exception now know that the Meles-Sibhat clique is not TPLF but EPLF!

For many years, those of Tigrayan origin wondered deeply why the TPLF surpassed the EPLF in its advocacy for the cessation of Eritrea. We could not understand why anyone of Tigrayan origin could advocate for a cause contrary to that of Emperor Yohannes and Ras Alula Aba Nega! Anyone of Tigrayan origin advocating for the actualization of Mussolinis blue print? Unthinkable! But despite our knowledge and commitment to this cardinal rule, we numbly witnessed people claiming to be Tigrayans going with unprecedented vindictiveness at the very heart of our most sacred principle!

But it was not Tigrayans alone who wondered about the unparalleled zeal with which the TPLF leadership campaigned to make Mussolinis dream a reality. Eritreans were at a loss too. None could comprehend the unprecedented devotion demonstrated by the Meles-Sibhat clique to the Shaebian cause! Not even the repeated insult and denigration in the hands of Isayas could dampen the cliques enthusiasm for the decapitation of Ethiopia on behalf of Shaebia! No wonder why they were knocking at every door of the UN to administer the sham referendum with so much speed and urgency!

Tigrayans now know why! Even the Guardian-12 now knows why! And the TPLF freedom fighters have been vindicated! The latter have been silenced and even forced to die in the Sahal to bring about the realization of Mussolinis dream!

Ke Badime mels, yileyiletal Meles vowed Ethiopias patriots while on route to Badime! Our heroes from every corner of our country knew of the devil amongst us. They knew who was responsible not only for Shaebias onslaught against the sacred soil of our Motherland but for all that took place previously. They recalled the disfigurement of our country and its history, the plunder of our resources, and the mistreatment of our citizens not only in Eritrea but also in our own home front! They recalled too the assassination of General Hayelom, and the incineration of the school children of Ayder, the victims of Adigrat, Alitena, Zal Ambessa and others!

They recalled others too. They recalled of our country, under the guise of cutting defense expenditure and inclusive army, rendered defenseless! Meanwhile, our national treasury and banks were compelled, without the knowledge of the Guardian-12, the Cabinet and the Parliament, to hand over billions of Birr to ensure Mussolinis dream become a reality! Billions of Birr to Shaebia while our people faced dire shortages of every kind!

They recalled the street scene of Addis and elsewhere in our country, filled with our young girls condemned to survive at any cost thereby making our nations capital the Mecca for gigolos, pimps, sadists and pedophiles, and many forced to become slaves in the Gulf States of the Middle East! They recalled the tens of millions of our poor begging to make it through the day! And they recalled of our health care and educational system in our country. So dismal became our health care system that admittance to any of the hospitals meant not cure but certain death! The same was true for many of lifes necessities in our country.

But they went singing our eon-aged patriotic songs to not only defend our country but also to dig out, incinerate and bury the ashes of Mussolinis blue print in the deepest depth of our coastal frontiers. Boom went the ferocious might of Ethiopias best. The earth shook, the day turned dark and the night lit with torrential rain of fire. And when the dust settled, Operation Sunset had ripped the enemy into fragments!

The heart of the Ethiopian people the world over was filled with pride and salutation to our fighting men and women poured from every corner of the globe! But we know now that the success of Operation Sunset was a bitter pill not only to Shaebia but also to the Meles-Sibhat clique too! And this explains why the Meles-Sibhat clique aborted the EDFs lightening offensive against Shaebia in the May-June, 2000 operation. They could not bear another bitter pill; they could not bear their quarter of a century betrayal of Ethiopia unearthed and made plain to the Ethiopian people! We now understand why they chose to save Shaebia!

We now know why they declared a half-baked victory and ordained the war over! Such crime they committed despite of our people languishing in Isayass concentration camps and the enormous cost of the war for our country!

We now have a definitive and reliable number of martyred Ethiopian soldiers. During the entire campaign of the war, 45, 000 Ethiopian and about 117, 000 Shaebian soldiers perished. Of the Ethiopian losses, 15, 000 were TPLF fighters! And what is truly lacerating is that this war was preventable! The Guardian-12 has warned Meles of an imminent Shaebian aggression months earlier but he dismissed it as "yetela bet chewata" and hence the unnecessary loss of life and properties! And what is even more painful is that despite this horrendous lose of lives, and many more dislocations and billions for war materiel, the clique opted to save the perpetrator of these loses!

The clique did not want Shaebias army decimated and the threat removed once and for all. We now know that an eight-hour extension of the war would have enabled our EDF to annihilate a fifty thousand man strong Shaebian army on the Mendefera front! We now know too that Siye Abraha, Gebru Asrat and the rest of the Guardian-12 intended to crash the Shaebian army once and for all, and in so doing obliterate Mussolinis seed of tyranny from our soil! Gratitude be to the Meles-Sibhat clique. They gave Shaebia the chance to go at us one more time. And that time has come again!

Once more Shaebia is on the move. What do we do now? We are once again defenseless! The Palace Group has demobilized 68% of the Ethiopian armed forces! The air force is in shambles! And all these in the face of continued Shaebian rearming and forced recruitment!

Our EDF has been completely made toothless and demoralized beyond belief! Many of the seasoned Generals and Commanders have been fired or have been sent to prison on tramped up charges! The Meles-Sibhat clique has done damage to our EDF what Shaebia could not accomplish with hundreds of thousands of soldiers! What do we do now, and who will save our country now?

We obviously can not abandon our country. We will once again go to the fronts and fry the disciples of the devil in an oven of inferno. But first things first. We can not sing Ke Badime mels, yileyiletal Meles! We must learn from our mistakes. We can never again win the battles but loose the war; we must win it all! The first step? We must change our song. And this time, we have options. Meles before Badime is a mute one, for Badime is in our hands. There is the other song. The song we should have sang at the onset of the last war against Shaebia. And that song? EDF:

ke Meles behuala wede Adi Kuala!!!

Quote:
The interview was conducted in connection with the 16th anniversary of the victory of EPRDF on May 28, 2007. A Woyane Reporter proceeds:

Woyane Radio: Our questions would revolve around Eritrea, and the solidarity of the struggle of the people of Ethiopia and Eritrea. So my first question is how do you explain TPLF's stand on the question of Eritrea from the beginning to the present time?

Sebhat Nega: That the question of Eritrea has been a democratic and just one was a hot topic and a subject of intense discussion among university students [in pre-1974 Ethiopia]. The issue of 'nations and nationalities' was also one of the many political questions being discussed at length.

Some of them used to say the Question of Eritrea should be seen in the light of the question of other nations and nationalities in Ethiopia.

Eritrean students at [Haile-Selassie I University] were split in two: one group supporting that Eritrea's question is no different from any other nation and nationalities in the country. On the part of Tigrian students, there were different groups under various names. The larger group of all these was the "Association of Progressive Tigrians" (Mahber Ghesghestee Tegaru). This group had a wider and deeper appreciation of the challenges in the country. Members used to discuss time and again, asking themselves: "Which one is a more pressing problem: resolving the problem of nations and nationalities or the class struggle issue?"

The group had a mature understanding that the issue of class struggle could be solved if the issue of the right of nations and nationalities is resolved first. This group [which includes Sebhat] considered that the Eritrean question was no ordinary question, and shouldn't be seen in light of the question of nations and nationalities of Ethiopia. The Eritrea question was born out of colonialism. The interest of the Eritrean people has also been an interest for independence. Since the Eritrean question reflects the interest of the Eritrean people, it was a just and democratic one.

This was the stand we took after conducting scientific explanations. Given the serious political situation in the country, to take such a stand on Eritrea was indeed very tough. It would bring ostracization by the rest. But we didn't want to gamble on the truth that the Eritrean question was a colonial question, a just demand of the Eritrean people for independence.

Therefore, we took the right stand on Eritrea. Not only that. An arduous struggle was conducted to establish as fact that the question of Eritrea was a democratic one. There was a strong opposition to this approach. There was an opposition even among Eritreans; there were Eritreans who did not accept the 'independence' issue of Eritrea. We campaigned heavily so as to persuade the doubting Eritreans. We wrote extensively about Eritrea, and its legitimate demand for independence. Since the issue was very difficult, we exerted tremendous efforts within and outside of the country and more than any other Eritrean political organization that Eritrea must break away from Ethiopia - and achieve independence.

Therefore, the Eritrean issue is what we have paid for dearly, what we have campaigned for vigorously, what we have exerted tremendous efforts for, that made it our solid policy. We've written extensively. We've lectured extensively. We have left no stone unturned to isolate the question of Eritrea from any Ethiopian problems. The question of Ethiopia's nations and nationalities was easy, simple to understand because most were affected by it. The question of Eritrea was different. It was different to understand it; it was difficult to make others understand it. For TPLF, which was struggling to stand on its feet on an Ethiopian soil, to promote such decisive policy on Eritrea was very difficult. In doing so, we convinced the Ethiopian people. Wherever we moved (as TPLF rebels), to persuade the society to accept Eritrea as a colonial question, was the most challenging of all political problems that TPLF set out to accomplish. Nothing comes closer to the price we paid to promote the Eritrean question as a just demand for independence.

WOYANE RADIO: There is a widespread resentment in the society that TPLF wrote, campaigned, took a firm stand, in short, TPLF fought for Eritrean independence more than any other Eritrean group to the extent that TPLF looked like an Eritrean organization. What was the motive, the cause, and eventual goal of taking such a huge risk? Second, at a time when TPLF was fighting for the independence of Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki's EPLF was swaying to work with the Derg government. EPLF had mediation talks with the Derg. How do you see that?

Sebhat Nega: We achieved political maturity long before the start of the armed struggle. If you ask who created TPLF it is the political conditions in Tigray that created it. It was a response, a reaction to the conditions in Tigray. We internalized the demand of the people for democratic governance long before the start of the armed struggle. Therefore, the democratic behavior, the democratic culture was already created when TPLF was launched. And democracy has no borders. If you have a democratic platform for your people, you don't deny democracy to other people. Therefore, the overriding need for the reign of democratic governance was one of the reasons that paved the way for the struggle waged to resolve the Eritrean question in a just and democratic manner.

Therefore, TPLF was an organization that had an excellent understanding of the Eritrean question, the conditions of the Eritrean people. TPLF didn't take the Eritrean demand as an ordinary question of independence alone. Eritrean groups, on the other hand, took the Eritrean question as the question of independence alone. They focused only on how to achieve independence. They never thought about post-independence Eritrea. Therefore, their program was only of 'independence.' On the other hand, TPLF was worrying about whether the Eritrean rebel groups - ELF (Jebha) and EPLF (Shaebia) - had any thoughts about post- independence Eritrean conditions. They had nothing. For this reason, TPLF was reminding them of the challenges awaiting them after they break-away. To persuade such a group with a fragmented view of independence was difficult. In fact, we never believed that the Eritrean group would - beyond its mercenary program - go and fight for independence to the end. And apparently, ELF gave in; knelt down. Close to the final hours, they had started talking to the Derg, before it abandoned the struggle wholly.

Shaebia (EPLF) was also showing signs of compromising on the independence of the Eritrean people. The power-sharing deal EPLF held with the Derg in an East German city and under the mediation of the East German government was evidence of Shaebia kneeling down to Derg. There were also other EPLF-Derg talks after the defection of Dawit Wolde-Giorgis.* Shaebia was also trying to give in to Derg during the foiled 1989 army generals coup led by General Bulti in Asmara and Generals Fanta [Belai] and Merid Negussie in Addis Ababa. The plan was to replace Mengistu with somebody else, and Shaebia would get its share. After the coup, Shaebia sent a message to us [TPLF]. Shaebia told us to make a swift decision and welcome a delegate of the coup leaders that was coming to meet with us via Adi Quala, Eritrea.

Our response was clear: TPLF knows no compromise with the Derg. The goal of our struggle is to bring about a total change of the system. TPLF might have considered negotiation had the coup been led by soldiers other than high-ranking army officers. Even at that level, we never believed a coup would change the system. Therefore, we turned down Shaebia's request to accept the plea of the coup. Our decision was - much to the dismay of Shaebia - announced on our Radio. Therefore, that was another occasion Shaebia had also considered a power-sharing arrangement with the Derg. The danger of this deal was not only aimed at sabotaging the interest of the Eritrean people for independence. It was also a move aimed at destroying the aspirations of the Ethiopian people for a democratic governance.

Based on these facts, we had written that Shaebia is a treasonous group and can betray the struggle of the Eritrean people any time. In principle, we recognized Shaebia was a strong national force, but its treacherous behavior deprives it the credibility of being reliable and trustworthy. It was not. The coup had also a huge political danger for Ethiopia. The Ethiopian people were never fond of General X or General Y. Our struggle was to create the equality based on unity of the people. On the Eritrean side, meanwhile, there was a book written by Eritreans which said the struggle of the Eritrean people for independence would never be successful because the struggle for independence is not a just demand. The cover of the book depicts an AK-47 rifle placed up side down. However, we (TPLF) published about 200 or 300 books and reversed the position of the AK-47 rifle from the bottom up. The book was titled: "The struggle of the Eritrean people would never be placed up side down."

Therefore, in all fairness, all Eritrean groups wouldn't add up to the efficiency, clear policy stands and the huge sacrifice paid by TPLF to anchor the independence of Eritrea.

We were suspicious that EPLF would betray the Eritrean struggle for independence. Meles said - given the wavering stand of EPLF - that we may face the danger of betrayal on the part of EPLF. It is at that time that Meles wrote the book: "The Eritrean struggle: From where to where?"The book became a thorn in the flesh of Shaebia but a source of courage for the Eritrean people. Everybody knows this. Shaebia members know it. The enemy knows it.

This doesn't mean Shaebia didn't fight for Eritrean independence. Afterall, Shaebia was a strong national force, i.e. militarily. It was a well-organized group with a strong army. Politically speaking, however, we never ruled out that Shaebia was a weak, submissive force that could one day give in to the enemy. We've stated this time and again. We were fearful that Shaebia would surrender but that fear was dispelled because we took measures that would block Shaebia from surrendering to the enemy. Despite showing signs of surrender, however, Shaebia managed to finish the journey to independence. All said, even at the present time, there is no force on Earth that would fight for the independence of Eritrea more than the EPRDF-led government of Ethiopia. Our firm principle on the independence of Eritrea is not what we withdraw when we feel angry, and endorse when we feel good about Eritrea. On our part, we believe the people of Eritrea know very well - except a few members of the Shaebia leadership - that the EPRDF-led government of Ethiopia is the one and only force that would defend the independence of Eritrea. In short, the Eritrean people are very well aware of the fact that no force matches the power of the EPRDF-led government to defend and support the independence of Eritrea.

"Suppose let's say Eritrea comes under invasion by an outside force. I've no doubt the EPRDF government would, along with the Eritrean people, fight against the enemy of Eritrea," Sebhat concluded.

The Eritrean Movement for Democracy and Justice (EMDJ), a new political organization founded by Eritreans exiled to Ethiopian refugee camps, is convening its first congress in a camp near Shire, Ethiopia, close to the Eritrea-Ethiopia border.

The organization, which claims it has an armed wing operating inside Eritrea was founded in April 2011.

The members of the organization are drawn from the Eritrean refugee camps in Ethiopia and they are mostly escapees from Eritreas forced labor and indefinite conscription.

The organizations political programme calls for the removal of Eritreas ruling party, the Peoples front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ) and the establishment of a popular, democratic, federal government which respects the rights of Eritreas nations and nationalities. One of these rights is the right to self-autonomy without restriction. The similarity between the name of the organization and that of the ruling party carries to slogans: EMDJs is Victory to the massesin practice!

EMDJ came to the attention of the Eritrean opposition for the first time in November 2011 when its representatives introduced their organization to the conferees of the Eritrean National Conference for Democratic change (ENCDC) in Hawassa, Ethiopia.

In an emotionally charged evening, a few attendees celebrated the introduction of the group, seeing great hope in its newness and claims that it has sympathetic Eritrean youth throughout the world.

Major officials of the Ethiopian government who deal with the Eritrean opposition have all traveled to attend EMDJs congress. But unlike other congresses, none of the known Eritrean organization, EDA or ENCDC leaders or delegates, were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

Background

In its brief existence, EMDG has drawn scrutiny due to colorful developments it was associated with.

First was the case of Angesom, who was influential member of the organization. Angesom (no last name available) was allegedly implicated in the lucrative human trafficking racket and law-enforcement officials searching his residence at a refugee camp uncovered huge amounts of cash. Angesom was promptly arrested by TPLF authorities.

There was also the power play between Hagerey Negash and Dekemhare. Apparently, Dekemhare attempted a coup against the leader, Hagerey Negash. The latter is now presumed to be the leader, and the few supporters of Dekemhare have gone into hiding.

A cultural troupe which was set up by EMDJ was disbanded and its equipment sold by individuals in Ethiopian towns.

Lastly, it suffered a setback when one of its members surrendered to the Eritrean regime taking intelligence assets with him.

Negarits reportage on the Hawassa congress has a mention of Hagerey Negash and his presentation on his organizations military wing.

As for the hosting of the congress, on behalf of all humble and appreciative Eritreans, I thank the Ethiopian Federal Government, and Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region for the warm welcome and the priceless experience. Only the callous do not have the ability to appreciate graceful deeds. We the attendants of the congress are custodians of the true Eritreans spirit, the unadulterated, uncorrupted Eritrean spirit, and we know how to say Thank You, with humility.

May God bless the Ethiopians with more resources so that they can offer substantial help to the Eritrean resistance. May all their regions blossom with hope, peace and development. May the virus that stung the despicable Sudanese government of Al-Bashir not come near them. May those who wish for Western NGO funds but see Ethiopian funds less worthy be blinded moreif they have any sight left. May the Eritrean political lepers muster the courage to join the PFDJ and give us a breakthen we would know who is an enemy and who is an allyinstead of their obsession with being OTTO, an Opposition To The Opposition. May the PFDJ be persuaded to throw to them some morsels so that they can save us their bickering while they chew on the leftover bones. May we be able to pay back all those who stood by our side in our time of need. May the Eritrean people see the light of liberty and justice soon.

Ethiopia PM accuses Eritrea of kidnappings

By Aaron Maasho

ADDIS ABABA
Tue Apr 17, 2012

(Reuters) - Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi accused Eritrea on Tuesday of abducting dozens of Ethiopian miners from the country's northwest, in a potential escalation of tension between the arch-enemies.

Ethiopian troops crossed into the Red Sea state last month and attacked what they said were military bases used by rebels to stage raids, including a January attack that killed five Western tourists in Ethiopia's remote Afar region.

These attacks were the first on Eritrean soil that Ethiopia has admitted to since the end of a devastating 1998-2000 border war, sparking concern that their unresolved frontier spat could escalate into a full-scale war.

"They (Eritrean government) recently kidnapped more than 100 young miners who were mining gold in our country's northwest. And in the northeast, they killed some tourists and kidnapped others," Meles said, the latter referring to the January raid.

"We have taken proportional measures in both locations," he told lawmakers in response to a question on relations with Eritrea.

Meles did not specify when and exactly where the abductions in the country's northwest Tigray region took place, nor the measures his country had subsequently taken.

Eritrean officials were not immediately available for comment, but they often dismiss their rivals' allegations as a ploy to harm Eritrea's reputation.
