Though this is another ploy of the radio actives, it is awesome to see Ethiopia is developing functional institutions - including skilled human capitals at the very time it is needed! Nothing is illegal in the cited rubbish because the Canadians, UK, US, France, Australia, India, Germany and many other countries are enacting provisions through their democratic legislatives to preempt and apprehend the malicious acts of the toxics!

How can you say this is the same thing as the Western democracies you listed do? The title of this report is (loosely translated):
Ethio Telecom and the TPLF Intelligence and Security Agency
Study and report by SMNE
This report details how the TPLF regime with the support/help of China has discarded the existing telecom apparatus and employees and have installed a “ new” system and converted Ethiopia's telecom into an intelligence gathering and spying apparatus. The report shows that people were encourage to get ne cell phones that will work “ better” with the new Chinese system but in reality these cell phones are listening devices that will continue to transmit conversation even when the phones are not being used.
The spying doesn't stop with political opponents. It includes NGOs, Embassies, Diplomats, foreign visitors, hotel guests...etc
I will not try to present/translate the whole report here. Anyone who is not able to read Amharic can get the report translated, if they are interested in what it presents.

The behavioral objective of the said "report" is initiated on concocted political motives and its title says it all.
The leading institution of Ethiopia is EPRDF - not TPLF. Alleging a country of 90 million diverse people as the subject of a political organization that was established specific Ethiopians is unsubstantiated. Its goal is to maliciously defame EPRDF by misrepresenting the facts so that to misinform the gullible foreigners and earn sympathy. It is also an affront directed at the people of Ethiopia as if they are incompetent or incapable of understanding their social, economic and political needs and the effective mediums to meet them.
This perversion has been said, written and propagated for far too long and utterly failed. Politically speaking one can bring other ideology or policy based arguments, and persuade its and constituents not only by pointing the missing puzzles but also by presenting the alternatives. In fact that is the effective approach in modern politics to win the heart and mind of those on the other side. I do not dare to say EPRDF does not have shortcomings on a number of areas because it has but quite forthrightly none of the oppositions is the substitute.
In democratic systems - opposing or belittling alone is not good enough to attain political capital but specific programs that fit current reality. The theme of the writings on this forum can serve as example to observe the malady of the toxics.
I am not trying to convince you but stating the fact. When ever I read the propagandas most of the oppositions present, I foresee EPRDF to stay in power for more years because they are detached from the social and political reality of Ethiopia.
In regard to the new Ethiopian security laws, it is very much in line with that of developed countries such as UK, US and India. Global circumstances necessitate the elected party to take adequate steps to prevent harms to the country. So long the laws are enacted adhering to the progressive law of the country, they are democratic. It is important to remember the constitution of the country empowers the elected office to take such measures. When devising political stratagems there are two enormously vital imperative the toxic part of the diaspora MUST learn: Ethiopia’ s socio- political stage has reached irreversible stage and the constitution meant what is says. By that, if EPRDF is to be replaced, it has to be but ONLY through ballot.
The notion to some how skew DEMOCRACY, HUMAN/INDIVIDUAL rights, or any other progressive issues for heinous political purpose is NOT going to work. Prolific writers may craft appealing articles, invoke statements of prominent civil right leaders and present them jumbled within tacit intimidations against specific Ethiopians that happened to have differing views, but, I assure you, due to the strength of foundation the path of that road leads only to their doomsday - NOT to Menilik Palace.
I would add the following facts.
1. Ethiopia does not have a regime but a democratically elected institution.
2. Ethiopia - like any other developing democratic country has the right to establish business and economic relations with any country. Countries of different ideologies can have good relation. You can take the relation between Saudi Arabia and the western world, or the business relation between the US and China.
3. Ethiopia - as independent country - is entitled to endorse any law that fits the interest of its populace, social formation and pertaining social norms.
4. The article is NOT any different than the so many malicious and venomous claims the degraded toxics have written, and similar to the previous ones this one too will end up in the rubbish bin.
5. The old Ethiopia in which part of its citizens were treated tantamount to servitude is gone for good. The notion one imposes what he feels is right upon the rest is also history. Your party can lead us but only by our consent.
6. I consider your last paragraph as an insult. You are disgorging what is paining you deep within. I think you have to learn humility; the last thing I expect from any one is to be told in what language I should communicate. As always, you are at fault!

Since TPLF has chosen to use Ethiopian Telecom for its political agenda and turn it into its private intelligence and spying unit, then the report has no other choice but be political.

The organization that calls itself Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) whose declared purpose is to “ liberate” Tigray from Ethiopia is the ruling tribal mafia. The cloned ethnic “ parties” it created is designed to make it look inclusive.

No one need to concoct or fabricate any story that can even match or come close to the crimes of TPLF that are committed everyday against the people of Ethiopia.

This definitely qualifies for a good bedtime story you may read to your grandchildren.

How would you know? The regime you support and advocate for doesn't even qualify for simple dictatorship let alone democracy. When one thinks of TPLF and its deeds, genocidal come to minde easily than democracy.

This might have been the reason you switched to China, to get more democratic. Keeping TPLF for more years in power is your source of unimaginable crimes against the Ethiopia people.

First, TPLF is not the country. Second, don't kid yourself imagining to emulate any democratic country because non of those you listed thinks you are anything like them.

Unfortunately for you, no one has signed up to be indoctrinated by your political dogma. Save your lecture time for your cadres.
